Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 October 2026
These terms apply to riders, drivers and vehicle owners using WhatsBook's cab booking services. Please read them before confirming a booking or applying to drive.
1. About the service
WhatsBook helps riders request cabs and connects them with approved drivers and vehicles in the Visakhapatnam pilot. The service currently covers cabs only, not parcels. A request or fare estimate does not guarantee a vehicle; confirmation depends on availability and driver acceptance. Practice simulators and sample records are demonstrations, not real bookings or payments.
2. Eligibility and accurate information
You must be at least 18 to book or hold a driver account. Provide correct contact, pickup, drop and application details, and use only documents and payment details you are authorised to provide. Keep your account secure. Do not impersonate someone, make false bookings, upload false documents or use the service unlawfully.
3. Bookings and trip safety
Check your pickup, destination, vehicle and quoted fare before confirming. Check the driver's identity and vehicle registration before boarding. Give the trip OTP only to the assigned driver when you are ready to start the ride. Wear seat belts, follow traffic and safety rules, and do not carry prohibited goods or exceed the vehicle's permitted capacity. For immediate danger, contact India's emergency number 112; WhatsBook support is not an emergency service.
4. Fares and payments
Review the fare breakdown before confirming. Vehicle type, distance, night charges and airport toll or parking can affect the quote. Any change to destination, route or waiting arrangements must be discussed and any revised charge agreed before proceeding. Pay only through the payment instructions confirmed for your booking. Never share a UPI PIN or banking OTP. Pilot screens may show simulated payment and payout states; these do not prove that money has been transferred.
5. Cancellations and refunds
If you need to cancel, inform WhatsBook support or the assigned driver as early as possible. Any applicable cancellation charge must be disclosed before you confirm the booking; these terms do not introduce a flat cancellation fee. For failed, duplicate or disputed payments, contact support with your booking reference and payment reference, not your PIN. Refund eligibility and timing depend on the facts of the booking, applicable consumer rights and the payment provider. No instant or automatic refund is promised.
6. Drivers and vehicle owners
Applying does not authorise you to accept rides. Approval requires in-person verification of the driver, owner and vehicle, including the required document and vehicle checks. Drivers and owners must maintain valid licences, insurance, permits and roadworthy vehicles, and tell WhatsBook about changes or expiry. Drivers must share their current location before accepting a ride, collect the trip OTP before starting, and treat riders respectfully. Commission, settlement and any owner-driver arrangement must be agreed during onboarding; simulator earnings are not an income guarantee.
7. Misuse and account restrictions
WhatsBook may suspend or restrict accounts or vehicles for safety issues, expired or false documents, fraud, harassment or breach of these terms. Contact support if you believe a restriction is incorrect. Do not interfere with the website, access another person's records or attempt to bypass verification or location requirements.
8. Availability and responsibility
Network outages, GPS accuracy, traffic, weather and third-party WhatsApp, maps or payment services may affect the service. Arrival times and distance estimates are not guarantees. Drivers and vehicle owners are responsible for lawful, safe vehicle operation. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law, or removes your statutory consumer rights.
9. Privacy, complaints and changes
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. For a booking issue or complaint, use the support contact supplied with your booking or the site's support link once an official number is configured. Include your booking reference and a description of the issue. These terms are governed by applicable Indian law, without limiting lawful complaint or dispute remedies. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. The legal operator's name, address and grievance contact must be confirmed before the pilot opens for real customers.
